Kabu no Soboro Ankake(かぶのそぼろあんかけ)
Hi, I’m Micco, a cook and dietitian from Japan 🙂
Ankake is thick-sticky sauce, common in Washoku. This delicious, juicy and easy recipe is one of my all-time favourite! You can also enjoy thicker sauce over rice.

INGREDIENTS(Serving: 2)
2 middle turnips with greens
1/4 lb ground pork
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 pinch of salt
1 1/2 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp cooking sake
1 cups water
1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1tsp water
2 tsp sesami oil

DIRECTIONS
1. Reserve and chop the greens . Cut the turnips into six wedges.
2. Heat sesami oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
3. Add ground pork and cook until lightly browned. Add trunips, greens, water, soy sause, salt, mirin and cooking sake. Simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the sausepan and stir or 3 minutes, until the Ankake has thickened.
